I've not got a diagnosis yet. I've been suffering increasingly from gait and limb ataxia, as well as a whole lot of other health problems (GI, muscle

stiffness as well as vague neurological signs (pins and needles, carpal tunnel type problems, etc). I was diagnosed with coeliac disease 10 years ago (proven
by jejunal biopsy as...

Are all sporadic ataxias progressive?

Dr. Paulson: We have spent a lot of time talking about the known genetic causes ataxia, and there are many in the audience that have sporadic ataxia. I would say the answer to the question is that sporadic ataxia is as diverse as the faces of the people who have it. Not all sporadic ataxia is progressive. Some people develop an ataxia that may not progress...

Hi All. Hope your all staying cool. Very, very hot here today.
I was wondering if any of you could give me any insight into my diagnosis. As I said before my mri of my thoracic spine showed conciderable atrophy which is consistent with spinocerebellar deg. I hear quite a bit on this forum about cerebellar atrophy and deg. but not too much about spinal cord atrophy with this. I was just wondering if any of you also have this as part of your disease. I will have another mri in August of...
